A rebellious teenager is falsely accused of planning a school massacre, and must survive a harrowing conflict with a prison gang leader while fighting to redeem himself with his community and the girl he loves.
Starring Connor Jessup (Falling Skies) and Alexia Fast (THE CAPTIVE), BLACKBIRD is a film that explores the dangers of bullying and retaliation in a world that is ever more inter-connected by social media.
Winner of awards around the world, including Best Canadian First Feature Film at the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival and the Grand Prix at Cannes Junior 2013, BLACKBIRD has been sold to numerous territories by sales rep Films Boutique.
As the lead producer, Marc Almon was engaged with BLACKBIRD from its inception, nurturing its creative development, overseeing financing and production, and working closely with his producing partners on the dissemination of the $1.25 million project.
